Recall of sausage contaminated with Salmonella: the supermarkets concerned

spot_img

We love to eat it as an aperitif, as a starter, to accompany our hot dishes… And on the shelves of our supermarkets, we now find all kinds of it, and at all prices. But charcuterie is very regularly the subject of a store recall for suspected contamination with Salmonella, among other bacteria.

In fact, this is the case with many products derived from animal exploitation, such as fish and cheese. “Most Salmonella are housed in the intestines of vertebrate animals and are most often transmitted to humans through contaminated food”, specifies Medisite.

Since May 24, 2022, a dry sausage marketed in many supermarkets of the Carrefour brand has been the subject of a large-scale recall procedure.

Salmonella would have been detected there during a bacteriological test, post-marketing. These are the following lots:

The product was marketed from 05/23/2022 to 07/19/2022. Consult the list of points of sale where it is imperative to return the product in our slideshow.

This bacterium is responsible for salmonellosis, an infection that can be quite serious, especially in fragile people (elderly and immunocompromised people, pregnant women, etc.). It manifests itself, most of the time, by gastroenteritis, or typhoid and paratyphoid fevers. Symptoms appear between 6 and 72 hours after consumption of the product.

Also, if you experience these disorders after eating the offending sausage, consult a doctor without delay.

However, if you do not experience any symptoms after consumption, there is no need to worry. And if the product is still in your refrigerator, above all, do not touch it! Instead, bring it back to the stores concerned, where you will receive a refund until July 19.
