CAMERON NORRIE KNOCKED OUT CANADA’S FELIX AUGER ALIASSIME INSIDE THREE SETS AT VIENNA OPEN IN ROUND 16

After a tie-break in the second set, Felix Auger Aliassime saved three match point before going on to defeat British number one Cameron Norrie at Vienna Open. Norrie was bidding for his eighth win in a row, having won the Indian Wells Masters tournament last week in California. This win brought home a special trophy.

Cameron Norrie was eliminated from the Vienna Open after losing to Felix Auger Aliassime in three sets, 2-6, 7-6(6) and 6-4.

Auger-Aliassime made a remarkable turnaround, saving three match points in set two before winning five consecutive points to force a decider.

The Canadian won the tournament and will now face Alex De Minaur or Alexander Zverev.

Norrie started quickly and broke the Auger Aliassime service in the first game.

Norrie, who was bidding for his third ATP Tour title, won 30 consecutive service points and broke the 21 year-old once more at 4-2.

The second set was more cagier, with Auger Aliassime starting to solve Norrie’s game. He forced a tie-break.

The world number 14 lost three match points to Auger Aliassime, who came back from 1-5 & 3-6 in tie-break to win the tie-break.

Although the Brit fought hard in the third set, momentum was with Auger Alassime. He broke at 2-2 to move 3-2 ahead and held his serve.

Even though Norrie saved two matchpoints at 5-2 down himself, Auger Aliassime was able to convert his third match point.
