The Toronto Blue Jays are finalizing a transaction to obtain starter Steven Matz in the New York Mets for three prospects, sources Knowledgeable about the deal told ESPN’s Jeff Passan on Wednesday.

The Mets are becoming right-handed pitchers Sean Reid-Foley, Yennsy Diáz and Josh Winckowski from the industry, sources said.

Matz, a 29-year-old left-hander, consented to a $5.2 million, single-family bargain with the Mets in December.

That deal came later that he had the weakest of the six seasons, going 0-5 with a 9.68 ERA whilst making $1,851,852 in prorated cover out of a $5 million salary. He had been dropped from the rotation after starting 0-4 with a 9.00 ERA in five starts, then made three relief appearances together with a place start.

Matz is 31-41 using a 4.35 ERA over 107 career starts and five relief appearances.

The Jays have had a busy offseason, emphasized by the addition of outfielder George Springer on a $150 million, six-year thing.

Toronto also consented to single-family contracts with right-handers Kirby Yates ($5.5 million) and Tyler Chatwood ($3 million) and re-signed left-hander Robbie Ray into a $8 million, one-time contract.
