Volvo revealed the price range for its new EX30 electric subcompact SUV this week. This addition to the Swedish manufacturer’s electric offering will make it possible to attract a wider customer base thanks to a starting cost of $53,700, or $6,200 less than a standard XC40 Recharge.
In exchange for this sum, you get the rear-wheel drive version with a 268 hp engine. It is theoretically capable of covering 442 km on a full charge thanks to a 69 kWh battery shared with the twin-motor variant.
The latter raises the price to $59,900, an amount justified by its 422 hp in total which will ensure a 0-100 km/h time of just 3.6 seconds. This gain in power also has little impact on the range, which drops to 427 km.
Note that all liveries of this SUV, slightly smaller than a Hyundai Kona, should benefit from full federal and Quebec incentives, because the price of the most equipped twin-engine version caps at $62,100.
Interested parties will be able to order their EX30 this fall and Volvo Canada estimates that the first deliveries will be made this summer.
