After cutting 35 players on Saturday, the Canadian reduced its squad again on Sunday.
This time, it was attackers Lias Andersson and Philippe Maillet who were placed on waivers for a period of 24 hours. If they are not claimed by Monday at 2 p.m., they will be reassigned to the Laval Rocket, whose camp opens on Monday.
This is also what happened to attackers Lucas Condotta and Mitchell Stephens, as well as defenders Nicolas Beaudin and Brady Keeper. These four players were placed on waivers on Saturday. On Sunday, the CH confirmed that they had not been claimed and that they were therefore transferred to Laval.
Maillet and Andersson played in Saturday’s game, a 3-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. As they must first go through waivers, they could not be removed directly after the meeting.
Once Maillet and Andersson are officially traded to Laval, there will be 31 players left in camp, including four injured (Carey Price, Mike Matheson, Chris Wideman and Christian Dvorak).
The Canadian will play his penultimate preparatory match on Monday in Toronto.
