Just like the Trax, the Hyundai Venue claims to be a five-seater. Honestly, four people will find comfort aboard these two vehicles. Even more affordable, the Venue has the advantage of offering a more generous warranty (5 years/100,000 km), lower fuel consumption and interior space roughly equivalent to that of the Trax (except for rear legroom). rear) despite its more compact exterior dimensions. In return, the Venue suffers from a trunk that is not very efficient, a fairer power output (121 horsepower) and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a nagging sound.

Like the Venue, the Soul makes better use of space on board. The interior dimensions of the Kia are almost on par with the Trax, including in the rear. However, the trunk volume is behind that of the American. More powerful, the Kia’s engine does not produce as much torque and therefore appears rather hollow at low and medium revs. More firmly suspended above the road, the Soul offers average driving pleasure and demonstrates more sensitivity when Wind blows on its sides.

The Nissan Kicks offers more space in the front, but less in the rear than the Trax. The latter also accommodates more luggage. Less powerful, the Kicks seems quicker to get going due to its lower weight, but the CVT does nothing to reduce the decibel level on board. No wonder Nissan offers to integrate a speaker into the headrest. Among the advantages of the Nissan, let us highlight the presence, as standard, of the main active safety devices. These, when offered, require an additional fee to board the Chevrolet. This largely explains the Nissan’s higher price.
