The wait is over for fans of German pop star Kim Petras. The artist caused a surprise by unveiling his album Problématique on Monday, which had been partially leaked.
Through ten tracks inspired by French house music, Petras boldly asserts his artistic autonomy, from the funk song Born Again to the sweet retro pop of Dirty Things.
The path to this exit was tortuous. In 2021, Petras signed with Republic Records and announced the record – which was then planned as his debut album – but the project was ultimately scrapped and leaked.
It was only in June that the singer of Unholy (her famous duet with Sam Smith) released what would become her real first album, Feed the Beast.
