Pension reform: The inter-union plan for the month of April

On April 6, 2023, a new act of general mobilization against the Social Security reform bill will take place. The intersyndicale calls on millions of French people from all walks of life to join the fight and demonstrate in the streets because of the proposed change in the pivotal age from 62 to 64 years old. Laurent Berger, the boss of the CFDT, was looking for a means of mediation and had invited Elisabeth Borne to discuss. She had initially refused, but finally accepted, and the meeting should take place at the beginning of next week.

Even if we can see a drop in mobilization the day after the 10th day of mobilization, the will to continue the movement is very present. It will be followed in many professional sectors such as transport, education or energy, and the organizers are quite calm about participation. For some, the organization of demonstrations during the week can be a brake, while the figures of the mobilizations show quite the opposite. The largest gatherings were seen on Tuesday March 7 and Thursday March 23.

The inter-union has set up an action plan for the 11th day of mobilization. More than 200 events will be organized in several cities in France, including Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lyon, Rennes, Lille and Nice. Different processions will parade all day, but also in the medium-sized cities of the country, which remain very mobilized.

In parallel with the announcement of a new day of mobilization, the inter-union has planned a whole calendar for the month of April. Here are the details:
