Summer hasn’t started yet but the heat is already here. For the past few weeks, temperatures have been particularly high in France for the month of May. During such periods, the heat can be stifling and difficult for many people to bear.

Workers, roofers, delivery people… All these workers suffer from the heat which directly impacts their daily lives and can even prove to be dangerous. According to the National Institute of Occupational Health, a temperature reaching or exceeding 33°C represents a real health risk for workers, reports RTL.

Fortunately, the law regulates these periods. The labor code, for example, obliges the employer to reduce manual handling. Similarly, he must provide fresh water for his employees and allow air renewal in closed rooms. For employees working outside, the schedules can be arranged.

Despite this, the daily life of some workers has been complicated for the past few days. A delivery man from Rennes notably confided in our colleagues from TF1 about his working conditions under a blazing sun. For him, pedaling becomes more and more difficult. “It complicates the task a little, the efforts are a little more difficult,” he explained.
