Flies, mosquitoes: the most effective trick to get rid of them

The heat and summer are back. Unfortunately, like every year, this period also marks the return of flies and mosquitoes which come to harm our daily lives as well as our sleep.

In every family, there is a grandmother’s trick to keep them away or get rid of them. If some are less effective than others, there is one, detailed by Benin Web TV, which has proven itself time and time again and which it could be smart to adopt.

For this trick, you will need several very basic ingredients found in every household:

– Several A4 sheets – String – 5 tablespoons of sugar – 3 tablespoons of honey – Water

To perform the trick, you must first heat the honey, sugar and water over low heat in a saucepan for about 5 minutes, until the mixture is homogeneous.

While the preparation is heating, grab your A4 sheets, the number you will need will depend on the size of your house and the number of windows. Cut them in 3 along the length and pass a string in order to be able to hang them.

Then simply brush the mixture onto your leaf pieces with a brush and then hang them near the windows of your home. The mixture will attract flies and mosquitoes which will stick to the sheet. You will thus be much more peaceful and will be able to enjoy the heat and the good weather without being bothered by these small insects.

If you want to avoid getting bitten, know that the color of the clothes you wear could also be important. Indeed, a recent study published in the scientific journal Nature has identified clothing colors that attract mosquitoes. Researchers from Shingon University (Japan) conducted a series of experiments on three species of mosquitoes: Aedes aegypti, but also Anopheles stephensi and Culex quinquefasciatus. As a result, red attracts mosquitoes the most and is the favorite color of the Aedes aegypti species. Black is the preferred color of Anopheles stephensi. Orange and cyan blue color can also attract mosquitoes, just like human skin colors, but only in the presence of CO2.
