(Halle) Alexander Bublik beat Germany’s Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-5 on Saturday to earn a place in the Halle Open final.

Ranked 48th, the Kazakh scored 14 aces and saved the only break point conceded to ninth-seeded Zverev.

The match lasted one hour and 27 minutes.

Zverev reached the Halle final in 2016 and 2017. He was aiming for his first title since 2021.

Bublik is 3-1 in career against Zverev.

Big winner in Montpellier last year, Bublik will face Andrey Rublev, third seed, in the final.

Rublev beat Roberto Bautista Agut 6-3, 6-4, racking up 12 aces, four breaks and 29 game-winners.
