Festival 2 Cinéma de Valenciennes 2022: resplendent French stars on the red carpet

The Festival 2 Cinéma de Valenciennes is in full swing. From September 23 to 28, Valenciennes celebrates the 12th edition of its film festival. Created in 2011, the festival broadcasts more than 60 feature films during this period and offers two competitions in parallel: one in the Fiction category, and the other Documentaries. To designate the winner in the Fiction category, the festival has this year an exceptional jury. Chaired by Michèle Laroque, the latter is accompanied by Arthur Dupont, Florence Loiret Caille, Sabrina Ouazani, Gilles Porte, Thimotée Robart, Romain Rousseau and Marion Vernoux. Like every year, the festival awards an Honorary Prize to a film personality. Last Saturday, director Danièle Thompson received this distinction. Known as a screenwriter (La Grande Vadrouille, La Folie des grandeurs), she notably directed the films La Bûche, Armchairs of the Orchestra and Cézanne et moi. With her son Christopher, she is filming a mini-series dedicated to Brigitte Bardot, which is scheduled for broadcast in early 2023 on France 2.

For the first day of the festival, Michèle Laroque, president of the jury, landed in a leather jacket and a printed dress on the red carpet on the first day. Sabrina Ouazani, meanwhile, opted for a rather flashy printed suit. The prize for the most extravagant outfit goes to Cookie Kunty, who plays an important role in the film Three Nights a Week, directed by Florent Gouelou. The drag queen appeared in a very stunning dress on the red carpet.

On Saturday, photographers were able to see Valérie Lemercier in a very classy suit, all in dark blue. The actress had come to personally hand over the Honor Prize to director Danièle Thompson. On Sunday, fans of the hit series Bref, broadcast on Canal, were able to see Alice David, who chose to come in a casual outfit. The actress was present for the preview of the film La Belle et Sébastien – Nouvelle Génération, of which she appears in the cast alongside Michèle Laroque.
