(Edmonton) Rick LeLacheur returns to the Edmonton Elks as interim president and CEO.
LeLacheur, who is a native of Edmonton, held both roles with the CFL team from 2002 to 2011.
The Edmonton club won the Gray Cup in 2003 and 2005 during LeLacheur’s reign.
He resigned on December 1, 2011 and was replaced by Len Rhodes. LeLacheur then served as president of the BC Lions from 2018 to 2022.
The Elks have indicated that LeLacheur is taking over immediately and will be tasked with finding a permanent replacement at the helm of the team following the departure of Victor Cui.
Cui was named president and CEO of the Elks on January 24, 2022. He stepped down on August 15.
The Elks are 1-9 this season and have lost their last 22 home games. They host the Ottawa Redblacks at Commonwealth Stadium on Sunday.
