(Toronto) The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Quebec defenseman Simon Benoit.
The former Anaheim Ducks signed a one-year deal worth $775,000.
Benoit has spent the last three seasons in Anaheim, scoring four goals and assisting in seven more in 137 games. He led the Ducks with 216 hits in 2022-23, more than 100 ahead of his closest teammate.
The Laval resident began his professional career with the San Diego Gulls in 2018, after three seasons in the QMJHL with the Shawinigan Cataractes.
