Alfa Romeo | The 33 Stradale brings the brand back to its glorious past

For many lovers of Italian design, the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is one of the most beautiful cars that has ever seen the light of day, an object that marries art and engineering with a symbiosis of rare eloquence. It was produced in only 18 copies from 1967 to 1969, some of which served as the basis for racing cars. Fifty-six years after its advent, Alfa Romeo announces its return in rather spectacular fashion.

Here is the 33 Stradale reissued using, no more and no less, the Maserati MC20. This mobile sculpture is hand-finished by the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera on the chassis of the MC20. Its lines are exceptionally pure, curvaceous to complete a balance of proportions worthy of the fine arts.

This tribute, which is limited to 33 copies – all sold out – may draw on the magnificent history of a once revered brand, but it is very modern in its offer. Its carbon fiber monocoque chassis to which aluminum parts are added testifies to this, as do its mechanics.

Its Maserati-sourced 620 hp 3.0L twin-turbo V6 supported by an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission ensures a more traditional look to the composition. An electric version is also served with 750 hp and a 102 kWh battery. Alfa Romeo claims a range of 450 km in the European measurement cycle. However, it increases the total weight to 2100 kg, 600 kg more than the combustion engine version. Fortunately, a carbon ceramic braking system is fitted as standard.

A piece of history that we will probably never see on our roads, which does not prevent us from reveling in its great artistic sensitivity.
