(Toronto) Loyalty program operator Air Miles announced Wednesday an exclusive partnership for hotel and vacation package bookings with Expedia Group, as part of its new travel booking platform.

The US-based travel company says the partnership will give Air Miles customers access to its 700,000 hotels and vacation destinations around the world.

The deal is part of a number of improvements to Air Miles since it was purchased by Bank of Montreal earlier this year.

When it acquired Air Miles, Bank of Montreal said it would look to expand the program with new ways to earn and redeem miles.

Expedia’s senior vice president of private label solutions, Alfonso Paredes, says the travel company has already seen strong booking interest during its soft launch.

Air Miles claims nearly 10 million active accounts in Canada.
