The Federal government wants to increase with a new law, the Bafög. The maximum rate of support for pupils and students is to rise from the winter semester of 2019 of € 735 in two levels by 2020 to a total of around 850 Euro. The draft law of the Minister of education, Anja Karliczek (CDU).

Until the year 2022, the Federal government wants to spend for the Reform, more than 1.8 billion euros. It is this Friday the subject of a hearing of associations in the Federal Ministry of education in Berlin.
