Our ball stars enter the competition. From July 20 to August 20, 2023, the 9th edition of the Women’s Football World Cup will be held in Australia and New Zealand. A major sporting event in which our Bleues are one of the favorite teams and hope to finish in first place in their group F.

This Sunday, July 23, 2023, the France team faces the Jamaican selection in Sydney for their first match in the Football World Cup. For their second match which will be held in Brisbane, our players will have to compete next Saturday July 29 in Brazil. Finally, the girls of coach Hervé Renard will end their group phase with a third meeting against Panama, on Tuesday August 2 in Sydney.

Will our Blues come at the top of their group? How far will they go in the competition? Will they glean a first star on their jersey and bring the cup home, like their male counterparts in 2018, next August?

Before following the journey of our team this summer, Planet invites you to review the squad of the French team. Discover in images the 23 sportswomen, stars of French and foreign clubs, selected for the international football competition.

Among the three goalkeepers of Les Bleues, French coach Hervé Renard chose Solène Durand (Guingamp), Pauline Peyraud-Magnin (Juventus) and Constance Picaud (Paris Saint-Germain). As for the eight defenders, we find Selma Bacha (Lyon), Estelle Cascarino (Manchester United), Elisa De Almeida (Paris Saint-Germain), Sakina Karchaoui (Paris Saint-Germain), Maëlle Lakrar (Montpellier), Ève Périsset (Chelsea ), Wendie Renard (Lyon) and Aïssatou Tounkara (Manchester United).

Among our six midfielders, we will follow the performances of Kenza Dali (Aston Villa), Laurina Fazer (Paris Saint-Germain), Grace Geyoro (Paris Saint-Germain), Léa Le Garrec (Fleury), Amel Majri (Lyon) and Sandie Toletti (Real Madrid). Finally, among our six nuggets playing in attack, we can count on the talents of Viviane Asseyi (West Ham), Vicki Becho (Lyon), Kadidiatou Diani (Paris Saint-Germain), Naomie Feller (Real Madrid), Eugénie Le Sommer ( Lyon) and Clara Matéo (Paris FC). Here they are in pictures in our slideshow.
