In the heart of the Sainte-Dorothée district, Château Taillefer-Lafon, built in 2004, combines wine production and business events. It offers an immersive experience thanks to its large reception room, its picturesque garden and its tasting areas. The first Quebec vineyard authorized to display the “Château” designation, its first vines, planted in 1999, gave life to various grape varieties. Having gained new momentum following the pandemic, Château Taillefer-Lafon has become a location of choice for organizing business events in the metropolitan region. Just 10 minutes from Montreal, it combines the countryside with the city. A loyal partner of renowned caterers, the Château attracted nearly 150 business events last year, for a variety of businesses, from law firms to construction contractors.

In December, Laval will welcome the Marriott Courtyard hotel, within the Espace Montmorency complex. In planning for several months, this hotel with 188 rooms spread over 10 floors redefines the business tourism offer in Laval. The establishment will have a restaurant, the first roof terrace in Laval and more than 4,000 square feet of meeting spaces specially adapted for business people. The $45 million project will be managed by Urgo Hotels

In the heart of the island, a completely different facet of business tourism is emerging, mixing nature and modern facilities. In 2019, the City erected a new building at Rivière-des-Mille-Îles park, managed by Éco-nature. This green building, a $10 million investment, was designed to LEED standards, with a green roof and innovative water management. The park, located between Highway 117 and Highway 15, meets the pandemic-stimulated thirst for outdoor experiences by offering a variety of water activities. The facilities offer a variety of options for professional meetings as well as a complete experience combining business development and team building.

Laval’s tourist offering is enriched with the recent opening of the multifunctional room at Montmorency College, following the construction of the new Guy-Rocher pavilion. This multi-purpose room, which can accommodate more than 400 people, embodies the marriage of technology, light and exceptional acoustics. It constitutes an ideal space for conventional events, while offering fluid access to visitors, being located opposite the Montmorency metro station.
