The German athletics Association (DLV) was not in financial difficulties, says its President Jürgen Kessing. He wanted to, however, confirm neither to deny that for the current operating reserves of the organization will be attacked. Kessing, separated from the main profession the mayor of Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany between Heilbronn and Stuttgart, and of the DLV after only two years, from the first man in the administration, Director Michael Lameli,. Lameli, in Bayreuth, Germany, trained as a sports economist, was the managing Director of the Berlin football Association, before in January 2017, the successor to Frank Hensel in Darmstadt, who had led the DLV nine-ten years full-time. His contract had a term of five years. The now-overdue severance pay, the amount of silence is agreed upon, charged to the Association and its annual budget of almost ten million Euro fee. Lameli was missing in the DLV a few months before the end of the year; first of all, due to illness, then he was free.

Idriss Gonschinska, Senior Director of sports, takes over as Kessing says, in addition to his office duties to the Director-General.
