(Chicago) Vladimir Guerrero hit a two-run homer in the eighth on Tuesday, guiding the Toronto Blue Jays to a 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox.

The score was 3-2 Chicago when Guerrero hit a 13th home run this season. The ball crossed the fence to the opposite field, on an offering from Joe Kelly (1-4).

The slap came after a walk allowed to Brandon Belt, who had given up his place on base to Cavan Biggio.

The visitors did their first damage in the fourth, after filling the cushions. After Daulton Varsho was moped out, Whit Merrifield hit a two-run double down the left field line. Belt and Guerrero then crossed home plate.

Merrifield also stole a 19th goal for the Blue Jays, ending a three-game losing streak.

In the sixth, Luis Robert slammed a three-run homer at the expense of Chris Bassitt.

Andrew Benintendi and Tim Anderson had racked singles, the latter to the infield.

Bassitt gave up three runs and six hits in six innings, striking out five batters.

The win went to Nate Pearson (5-1), who pitched in the seventh. The eighth was Erik Swanson’s affair, then Jordan Romano scored a 25th save.

Romano struck out Andrew Vaugh, Oscar Colas and Jake Burger, the latter on three shots.

Bo Bichette had runners on second and third in the seventh inning. He was, however, handcuffed, a removal that ended the round.

Bichette had a nice play far to her left in the fourth, against Robert. He relayed in time to first base, where Guerrero had to make the splits.

Guerrero, Merrifield, Bichette and Kevin Gausman will represent the Jays at the All-Star Game in Seattle next Tuesday.

Alejandro Kirk pinned Colas for a steal at second base in the second inning.

Starting pitchers Wednesday will be Jose Berrios and Lance Lynn.
