From Tuesday July 4, 2023, a fairly active disturbance will cross a large part of France. Five regions will face rains that will locally take on the character of thunderstorms. The wind will strengthen as this disturbance passes, up to 80 km/h along the Channel, and between 60 and 70 km/h inland over a large half of the north. From the Pyrenees to the Alps to the Mediterranean, the weather will remain dry.

In the next few days, a significant meteorological evolution is expected throughout France. From the start of Friday evening, most regions will experience numerous thunderstorms, with the exception of Corsica, as well as the coastal departments of Occitania and the Mediterranean, which will be spared by these bad weather.

However, an increase in atmospheric pressure is expected, due to the rapid rise of an anticyclone from the Azores and the Maghreb towards France. This meteorological development will lead to an improvement in the weather with the return of the sun. As a result, temperatures will rise, and it will be hot in the afternoon, even very hot, with an average of 30°C over three-quarters of the country.

Despite this general improvement, thunderstorms may still develop in the south-west of France at the end of the afternoon. It is therefore important to remain vigilant and follow the local weather forecast to know the evolution of the weather in your area.

In summary, the next few days will be marked by a return of the sun and a rise in temperatures over most of the country. However, thunderstorms may persist in the southwest at the end of the day. Take the necessary precautions and take advantage of these summer conditions to fully appreciate the summer season.

Find in our slideshow, the stormy forecast for the week of July 3 to 9, 2023, according to Météo-France.
