Will the riots end soon? The night of Sunday July 2 to Monday July 3 was calmer in many cities, after a particularly violent last week. Degradation, fire, looting, breaking… The damage is considerable and amounts to millions of euros, for traders but also for public authorities. Currently, 45,000 gendarmes and police are mobilized in the country and 157 people have been arrested in recent hours, according to the Ministry of the Interior, which specifies that no major incident has been reported this night. In all, more than 3,300 people have been arrested by law enforcement since Nahel’s death on Tuesday June 27 and the start of the riots.

During a trip to Reims, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said: “You have to be firm with the thugs and not see any social excuse where there is none”. He once again supported elected officials, some of whom were directly targeted by thugs: “We are alongside local elected officials. We will have to rebuild the town halls, the damaged buildings. The State will work on it this summer “. Shops, but also town halls, schools or leisure facilities have been damaged in recent nights in many cities affected by the riots. In Haÿ-les-Roses, in Val-de-Marne, the mayor’s home was attacked by a ram car and his wife, injured, had to be taken to hospital.

In response to these degradations, a dozen municipalities have implemented a curfew for some of their inhabitants, or the entire population. While many ended this Monday morning, others are maintained until tomorrow morning, weekend or end of the month. Which cities are affected? Find out below our article.
