Pension reform: can I leave before 62 if I have all my quarters?

spot_img

The pension reform must be implemented from September 1. The increase in the legal retirement age is therefore effective: it will now be necessary to be 64 years old to be able to retire. The insurance period will be set at 43 years. If some retirees will be able to retire earlier thanks to the long career scheme, what about future retirees who have accumulated all their quarters before the legal retirement age? Will it be possible to leave before the age of 62 in this case?

According to the legislation in force, it is normally not possible to retire earlier, even if you have accumulated the required number of quarters before the legal retirement age. You must therefore wait until you have reached the new retirement age, i.e. 64, to be able to retire. However, special cases exist and it is sometimes possible to leave earlier in these specific configurations. For example, if you started working young, you can take advantage of the early departure for a long career. You are concerned if you started your professional career before your 16, 18, 20 or 21 years.

You can also leave before the legal departure age if you are disabled. In the event that you meet the conditions for the duration of validated and contributed insurance with a disability rate of at least 50%, you can request to leave at age 55. It is also possible to leave earlier if you are exposed to hardship factors at work and thus claim an early departure from your 62 years, or 60 years, depending on your generation. This case applies if you have worked in contact with asbestos during your professional activity.
