The publicist, satirist and sculptor Hans A. Nikel is dead. The inventor and publisher of the satirical magazine “Pardon” had already died on Thursday at the age of 88 years in Bad Homburg after a long illness, informed his widow and a friend of the family, the German press Agency on Monday evening.

The upper Silesia-born Nikel came after the Second world war, according to Frankfurt. He worked as a Journalist for the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” and “Frankfurter Rundschau”. At the same time, he studied with the philosophers Max Horkheimer and Theodor W. Adorno, the protagonists of the Frankfurt school. In 1954 he founded with Erich Bärmeier a joint publishing project.
