As summer approaches, certain changes will be implemented from June 1, 2023. This month will also be marked by new days of mobilization against the pension reform. Meeting in Paris on Tuesday May 30, 2023, the inter-union announced a “big day of strikes and demonstrations”, according to the words of Maryse Léon, future president of the CFDT, reported by Ouest-France.

For the fourteenth day of strike, several sectors will be mobilized. “We will not turn the page: together, united and determined to win the withdrawal of the reform and for social progress, let’s build strikes and demonstrations everywhere on June 6”, then specified the inter-union. The latter also invites deputies to vote in favor of the Liot group’s bill aimed at repealing the pension reform on June 8. This busy start to the month will also be accompanied by several changes from June 1st.

On May 6, 2020, the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Energy Transition published an article announcing the end of regulated gas sales tariffs. Indeed, “in accordance with the energy-climate law of November 8, 2019, the regulated sales tariffs (TRV) of gas will end on June 30, 2023 for individuals and condominiums”, specifies the ministry’s website.

Thus, it is necessary to switch to a market offer before the indicated deadline. It is then possible to take out a subscription with one current gas supplier or another. It will also be possible to refer to the “benchmark” gas price which will be published by the Energy Regulation Commission (CRE). But that’s not the only thing that changes on June 1.

Another change made as of June 1, 2023: the termination of insurance contracts. Previously, long procedures awaited those who wished to terminate their contract. From now on, it will be possible to terminate this subscription in “three clicks”, as indicated by the official administrative information site for companies. This new method works for both current and future contracts.

In addition, the new system applies to insurance contracts covering natural persons outside their professional activities. The objective is therefore “to simplify terminations so that consumers can move towards more advantageous contracts for their purchasing power”, specifies the government site. This termination should be extended to other sectors such as telephony. No date is mentioned for the moment.

Since Thursday, April 13, 2023, the online tax return campaign has been launched. Depending on your department, you will need to complete it by a specific date. Thus, if you live in a department numbered from 01 to 19, the deadline was set for May 25 before midnight, according to information given by the Ministry of the Economy. French people residing abroad are also concerned. For departments between 20 and 54, you have until June 1 before midnight. For the rest, the service has set June 8 as the deadline.

It is also necessary to make the declaration of real estate, made compulsory on January 1, 2023. You have until June 30 to complete this form. In addition, the tax authorities will not sanction delays since this is the first year of entry into force of this declaration.
