Pamela Ware (CAMO), who won the silver medal in the one meter springboard on Friday at the Canadian Championships in Toronto, did it again on Sunday by climbing to the top step of the podium in the 3m, achieving by the way a personal record.

“I felt so good today (Sunday). I beat my personal best by two points, so it’s a very exciting day,” Ware said after his victory.

Ware earned a score of 66.00 on her first dive in the final, which placed her second provisionally behind Mia Vallée (CAMO) at that time. The 30-year-old diver then demonstrated exemplary consistency on her next four jumps to edge Vallée and cruise to the gold medal with 374.55 points.

“I’m still struggling with my first dive, but it’s getting better. For the rest, everything went really well and I’m really happy with my result. »

This victory also gives a huge dose of confidence to Pamela Ware in anticipation of the World Championships and the Pan American Games which will take place in the coming months.

“This weekend, there was a little more pressure as it was an important stage for the qualifications for the World Championships in particular. I felt a little stressed, but I think I handled it well. I’m going to take a week off before I start training again to keep improving,” she added.

As for Vallée, she finally took second place in the competition with 345.90 points, just ahead of Aimee Wilson (Calgary) with 329.25 points.

Quebec’s Nathan Zsombor-Murray (PCDC) sparkled in the 10m platform final on Sunday, racking up an impressive total of 510.50 over six dives to claim the Canadian Championship title.

The 20-year-old set the bar high on his second vault of the final as six of the seven judges gave him a perfect score. He never had to look back afterwards.

“I’m very happy with my grades and my result. I think there is still room for improvement. Maybe I could have done better on my last three dives. However, I’m happy with my performance, which bodes well for the rest of the season,” said Zsombor-Murray.

The Quebecer was joined on the podium by Ciro Mejia from TDA (424.10 points) and Arnaud Corbeil from CAMO (401.35 points), two young divers who turned many heads in the final.

“They really impressed me! Arnaud and Ciro are very solid and they gave a good performance in the final. I train with Arnaud and I know how talented he is. I’m glad he was able to show that today,” added Nathan Zsombor-Murray.

With a collection of six medals during the weekend, the CAMO club of Montreal won the banner of the best club in the general classification.
