(Geneva) Chilean Nicolas Jarry beat Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets 7-6(1), 6-1 in the Geneva Tennis Open final on Saturday.

Dimitrov, who was once ranked third in the world, was hoping to win his first ATP tournament since 2017.

Rather, it was Jarry, 54th in the world, who earned a second title in 2023 when Dimitrov was unable to return a powerful serve, on the Chilean’s first match point.

Jarry celebrated his victory by crossing the court to join his family, before handing his racquet to his young son.

During the week, Jarry defeated two-time defending champion Casper Ruud, Alexander Zverev and Dimitrov.

Dimitrov was in his first final since 2018, in Rotterdam, where he lost to Roger Federer.
