Malus on the supplementary pension: the 12 people exempted by the reduction

As part of the Agirc-Arrco plan, several conditions for access to a supplementary pension have been determined. Thus, a system allowing a temporary increase or reduction has been put in place to encourage future retirees to continue their activity after their legal retirement age. The latter also offers them the possibility of continuing to work, while having already acquired the period of insurance necessary to obtain a full pension. In which cases can you be exempted from this reduction mechanism?

A system of reduction or temporary increase has thus emerged in the Agirc-Arrco scheme. It applies to the amount of your supplementary pension and concerns you in several different situations. If you were born on or after January 1, 1957 and you meet the conditions for obtaining your Agirc-Arrco pension at the full rate after January 1, 2019, you are one of the future retirees fully impacted by the scheme. If you were born before January 1, 1957 or if you are applying for your supplementary pension with a permanent reduction, you do not have to worry about this device.

In the event that you claim your supplementary pension when you benefit from the full rate under the basic scheme, a reduction of 10% for three years applies to the amount received. Your pension will no longer be reduced when you reach the age of 67. The temporary reduction of 10% does not apply to the Agirc-Arrco pension for retirees exempt from CSG. If you have to pay the CSG, your reduction is then 5% instead of 10%. In certain situations, however, it is possible to be completely exempt from this temporary reduction. Find out, in our slideshow, if you are one of the 12 people concerned.
