(Paris) Singer Nana Mouskouri, who is celebrating 60 years of career, will auction several pairs of her famous rectangular glasses, 200 stage dresses and as many fashion accessories on June 19 in Paris, for the benefit of the Foundation of the Hospitals of France, she announced to AFP on Wednesday.

“Time is passing. I always had the project to do something with my stage outfits which are a little asleep in my wardrobes. I met Brigitte Macron (Editor’s note, president of the Fondation des Hôpitaux de France) and I offered to sell them for a good cause, “said Nana Mouskouri, 88.

“These dresses have accompanied me in important moments of my life as a singer, all over the world. With them, I experienced great emotions with the public, “added the singer, who has just published Plaisirs d’amour, a complete set of 440 titles recorded since 1963.

Among the stage outfits in the catalog for this charity sale, a dress by designer Per Spook for Louis Féraud in the 1970s, a sheath dress with pagoda sleeves by Jean Paul Gaultier and a long embroidered chiffon dress by costume designer Mine Vergès .

“Per Spook designed my first dresses, gave me a style that quickly became mine. Jean Paul Gaultier came to me with his fantasy and designed me a dozen dresses,” said Nana Mouskouri.

Shoes, hats and belts will also be auctioned. The 400 lots will be exhibited at the Galerie Sabine Bayasli, in Paris, from Wednesday, June 14.

Nana Mouskouri, who has sold nearly 400 million records in a dozen languages, released her final studio album, Forever Young, in 2018, with covers of great standards, including Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, Say, When Will You Come Back? by Barbara and In the Ghetto by Elvis Presley.
