Rafaël Harvey-Pinard continues to surprise, and he has probably not finished doing it.
Unsurprisingly, he was voted the Canadiens’ player of the month for March, for an honor he will cherish all his life: the prestigious Molson Cup.
In the end, the young striker got 7 goals in 16 games this month. With all that, he is the fourth scorer for CH, with 14 goals in just 32 games.
“It’s a source of pride, if I had been told in January that I would have had this honor, I would not have believed it,” noted the Quebec player, Saturday morning at the Bell Center. That was my mentality coming here, I wanted to make an impact. It’s good to be recognized. »
The bad news is that Harvey-Pinard has “little sores,” as Martin St-Louis explained Saturday morning, and he’ll have to miss Saturday night’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
“He needs a day off,” St-Louis said. He gave us a lot, and he needs the night off. »
This leave will coincide with the return of Joel Armia, who will return to play on Saturday evening. The Finnish striker has not played since February 21.
David Savard, injured, will have to be absent again.
It is Samuel Montembeault who will be in net for the Canadiens against the Hurricanes.
