In 2023, retirement will definitely experience changes. Around December 15, 2022, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne will present the main lines of the pension reform. But it is only in January 2023 that the bill will be presented to Parliament for consideration.

Until then, the government still has to deal with several stages of negotiations. This Thursday, December 8, the discussions are likely to be stormy at the Hotel Matignon. The head of government will receive the leaders of the main French unions such as Philippe Martinez for the CGT or Laurent Berger for the CFDT.

The purpose of this meeting is in particular to “take stock of the first two aspects” of the pension reform, namely that on the employment of seniors and hardship, and that on special regimes, the minimum pension and the function public. As Cyril Chabanier, president of the CFTC union at TF1, clarified, the third aspect concerning financing and legal age should also be addressed.

While the pension reform should change several things about the pension system, other new features are expected in 2023. Indeed, the public interest group (GIP) Union Retraite will launch, in the coming months, a whole series new services and tools to simplify retirement procedures. As Capital reports, the online account as well as the “My retirement account” application should therefore see several new features.
