This morning, a meteorological depression entered French territory from Brittany. It will be accompanied by heavy showers, strong winds and thunderstorms on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 November. Along the Channel and Atlantic coasts, gusts will reach 100 km / h this evening.

The oceanic disturbances pushed westwards from the European continent will rush into the Mediterranean basin, where they will be accentuated in front of a sea with contrasting, warmer temperatures. Not only the south-west of France, but also Italy, the east of Spain as well as North Africa will be affected by violent storms, according to La Chaîne Météo.

The bad weather will be felt the most at the start of the week, starting with the western flank of France and will then spread eastward. The Pyrenees region will see particularly torrential rains fall, with a risk of overflow, particularly in the Basque country, which will see nearly 200mm fall in one week, the equivalent of the rainfall for an entire month of November.

This Monday, the rain-snow limit will be 1,300 meters low! The Pyrenees mountain range will therefore see its first heavy snowfalls of the year. At 2,000 meters and beyond, thicknesses between 1 meter and 1.5 meters are expected! Finally, the dive of the disturbances in the Mediterranean should create a depression this evening around the Corsican coast. The Côte d’Azur and Corsica are therefore the subject of particularly stormy forecasts from tonight.
