Among them, the adaptation of an erotic book published in the 20th century that should appeal to fans of forbidden romances.

At the beginning of December, the famous Netflix video platform will offer its subscribers the opportunity to discover Lady Chatterley’s Lover online. Written by English author David Herbert (D.H.) Lawrence, this novel was published in Florence in 1928 before it could be printed in the UK in 1960, due to its romantic intrigue and shocking explicit sex scenes. era. With several screen adaptations, the 2022 version was directed by French filmmaker Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre.

“Born into a rich and privileged background, Connie finds herself married to a man she no longer loves. When she meets Oliver, the gamekeeper of their English property, their torrid affair allows her to discover unsuspected pleasures. Before discovering the new adaptation of Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre on December 2 on Netflix, the most nostalgic among you will remember in particular that Lady Chatterley’s Lover was played by various stars: Danielle Darrieux (in 1955, directed by Marc Allégret, banned in the United States until 1959), Sylvia Kristel (in 1981, by Just Jaeckin) or even Marina Hands (in 2006, directed by Pascale Ferran, taken from the second version of the novel and crowned five times at the Caesar 2007).

To embody the sulphurous couple, the English actress Emma Corrin (already seen in the skin of Lady Diana in The Crown) plays Lady Constance Chatterley, while the British comedian Jack O’Connell takes on the role of the forest ranger and lover of the young woman. While the first images were unveiled online on November 3, the film is already attracting the attention of some Internet users.
