A nationwide one-day strike. Thursday, November 10, the unions are calling for an interprofessional mobilization, in order to assert an “increase in wages, the Smic, and the automatic indexation of all levels of remuneration to the cost of living”, but also to protest against the government pension reform, said Philippe Martinez, secretary general of the CGT. On October 18, a first day of mobilization had not really met with the expected success. According to the unions, it had brought together nearly 300,000 demonstrations. According to the Interior Ministry, only 107,000. Disruptions had remained minimal.

However, the confederal secretary general of the CGT, Céline Verzeletti, told AFP: “there is a dynamic, we don’t want to let go”.

The trade union organization was therefore quick to call for two more strike days, on 8 and 11 November. And the stake is already planted in several sectors.

The galley could even begin as early as November 8. In Tours and Dijon, the bus and tram lines will be impacted from Tuesday. We are also expecting a mobilization on the education side: in Paris, where the SUD Education union is calling for a strike to fight against the closure of 7 high schools.
