Hurricane Danielle is heading towards France. The former tropical storm is expected to follow the classic hurricane path by bypassing the Azores High and then heading off Ireland or England according to models from the American Hurricane Center (NHC).
Danielle is getting closer to Europe little by little, to reach it at the end of the week. By then, it will have lost all its “tropical” characteristics and will become a simple depression which should turn into a real heat pump for France. This means that warm lifts are expected this weekend, especially Sunday, September 11, 2022 when the mercury will climb in parts of the country.
As La Chaîne Météo explains, the arrival of hurricane Danielle favors the rise of a mass of hot air coming straight from the Maghreb, and is accompanied by the return of a protective anticyclone.
In these conditions, we are considering “the return of beautiful hot weather (…) but above all high temperatures up to 35°C” in places, warns the site specializing in meteorology.
For the day of Sunday, the forecaster announces average temperatures between 24 and 30°C over the whole of France… But where will it be heaviest, with weather described as “hot” under the influence of subtropical air? Because in other parts of the territory, the weather will be cloudy, rainy or even unstable… Which side are you on?
The return of good weather will be particularly palpable south of the Loire, where bright sunshine and very mild temperatures are expected on Saturday 10 September.
Hot weather is also expected between the south of Aquitaine and Occitanie, where the weather could be really hot on Sunday due to the subtropical air rising towards Europe.
Sunday, precisely, this beautiful weather will extend to the majority of the country, from the Great East to the north of Aquitaine… What about the rest? Which regions will be more affected by a cold drop throughout the weekend?
On Saturday, “France will still be in the wake of a depression centered on Denmark”, warns La Chaîne Météo.
Concretely, this means that part of the country will still be faced with unstable weather, under the influence of a cold drop: the north east of the country on Saturday, and Brittany on Sunday.
The air could be “fresh” in the north of Hauts-de-France and in the east of the Grand Est. Precipitation is to be expected this weekend if you live in one of these regions.
Next week, Hurricane Danielle is also expected to cause a sharp rise in temperatures and stormy breakdown.
