Several toys for young children are being recalled due to a strangulation hazard that could lead to “respiratory arrest”.

The “Cute wheeled animals” wooden animals of the Bemi brand are thus recalled throughout France. These small dogs and cats to be pulled with a cord were marketed in NOZ stores from June 27 to August 18, 2022. All batches are concerned, indicates the recall sheet published by the government site Rappel Conso.

The document mentions the “presence of small removable parts and a long rope”. For young children, there is therefore a “risk of ingestion and strangulation” which can lead to “respiratory arrest”. People who have purchased this toy are asked to stop using it and return it to the point of sale for a refund. This recall procedure will end on October 17.

The second similar recall involves Little Big Friends’ “Brigitte the Hermit Crab” Musical Animal Toy. It was marketed from June 1 to August 18, 2022 in several toy and childcare stores: JouéClub, Orchestra, Bébé9, Bambine

“We have discovered a potential safety issue, which may be caused by the pull string of the toy in question. This may pose a strangulation hazard to young children,” the recall sheet reads. Persons in possession of this product are requested to keep it out of the reach of children and to discontinue use. They can send their postal details to contact@btl-diffusion.com in order to return and refund the toy.
