The Plus belle la vie series is about to welcome a new face. Meryl Bie, who defines herself as a “transgender influencer”, will thus join the cast of the program, reports Pure Media on Monday July 18, 2022. The 21-year-old young woman has 3.4 million subscribers on TikTok where she notably distills beauty and make-up advice.

According to our colleagues, the character that Meryl Bie will play should be at the heart of intrigues located at the police station. She will notably give the reply to Théo Bertrand, who plays the role of Kevin Belesta. We should see her appear in episodes next September.

The influencer’s first steps in front of the camera will therefore be short-lived since the France 3 series will end a few months later. Indeed, due to dwindling ratings, Plus belle la vie will not be renewed, after more than 4,500 issues broadcast daily.

“I’ve always been bad in my body. I think I came out trans two years ago, but I really know it forever,” Meryl Bie told Pure Break in an interview. 2020. The TikTok star had explained not to take account of “haters” but to try to educate people who may wonder about his career. “It also hurts me when people tell me I’m gay because I’m actually not gay at all, I like boys and I’m a woman, so logically I’m a straight woman. Even though I don’t I don’t have the physique of a woman, I remain a woman”, assured Meryl Bie.

This is not the first time that Plus belle la vie has included a transgender person in the cast. As TV Mag recalls, Jonas Ben Ahmed joined the program in 2018, becoming the first trans comedian in a French series. More recently, actress Andréa Furet caused a sensation in a TV movie broadcast on TF1. In Il est Elle, she embodied an adolescent who felt bad about herself, certain that she was a woman in a boy’s body.

Andréa Furet won the title of first runner-up to Miss Paris on June 19. She will participate in the election of Miss Ile-de-France next October and could, in the event of victory, claim the crown of Miss France. A first for the famous competition. “Being first runner-up is crazy. It proves that people are ready for change, are ready for inclusiveness and living together, it’s very nice. This title is really synonymous with victory”, reacted the young woman for TF1 Info.
