White vinegar: 11 surprising laundry tips

spot_img

Detergent, fabric softener, bleach… You are probably putting way too many products in your washing machine. Contrary to what some brands try to make you believe, you don’t need all of this to deep clean your laundry or restore its shine. Often, a little Marseille soap is enough to restore cleanliness to a garment and that is why it is the basic ingredient of many homemade laundry recipes.

Clearing out your cupboards a little will allow you to do something for your health, for your wallet and for the planet. Indeed, accumulating products ends up being expensive at the end of the month, especially since they are often expensive. If it is easy to replace your industrial detergent with a homemade product, it may be a little less easy to replace your stain remover or color enhancer. Did you know that there is a single product capable of doing all of this at once, for next to nothing? It is white vinegar.

You already know it for its cleaning properties and maybe you use it around the house to disinfect your countertop or to give your bathroom sink a shine.

White vinegar is a natural product, since it comes from the fermentation of an alcohol, often made from sugar beet, but sometimes also from corn or wheat. Be careful, it is not because it is more natural than other cleaning products that it can be used with everything! Indeed, electronic devices and kitchen knives do not like at all to be passed a cloth of white vinegar on them. It will also be ineffective for egg stains and urine stains on textiles.

For your laundry, on the other hand, there is no problem, provided of course that you take certain precautions. Discover, in the slideshow below, 11 uses of white vinegar in your washing machine, for an even more beautiful laundry.

Like all your cleaning products, your bottle of white vinegar should not be left within the reach of children.

Even if it is a natural product, it can cause various accidents such as:

To prevent this, it is therefore advisable to wear gloves and goggles when using it.

You also have to be careful never to mix it with bleach. This solution “causes the emanation of dichlor, which is a particularly toxic gas for the respiratory tract, even fatal in the event of prolonged inhalation”, as indicated by Femme Actuelle.
