On Saturday, a Special CBI court heard arguments in the case of Rs 139.35 Crore Doranda Treasury embezzlement involving RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. It reserved its verdict for February 15.
Former chief minister of Bihar, who was sentenced to 14 year imprisonment in four fodder scheme cases is also being accused in the fifth and last case.
The hearing against Yadav and 99 others was completed by the Special CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation Judge S K Shashi) which had been ongoing since February last year.
Arguments for Dr Shailendra Kumar (the last accused) were concluded during the day.
BMP Singh, the Special Public Prosecutor of CBI, stated that all accused were required to physically attend the courthouse on the day the verdict is delivered.
55 of the 170 original accused have been killed, seven have given evidence, two have pleaded guilty, and six remain at large.
Yadav is a former MP Jagdish Sharma. The then chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Dhruv Bhagat and Animal Husbandry Secretary Beck Julius are also the main accusers. Dr K M Prasad, Animal Husbandry Assistant Director, and Animal Husbandry Secretary Beck Julius are also the principal accused.
