The National Opera Greek returned to the stage this Saturday, after months of no activity due to the pandemic of coronavirus, with a performance by mezzo-soprano Georgian Anita Rachvelishvili in a unique setting, the Roman Agora of Athens .

The concert, according to reports Efe , was able to be enjoyed live free of charge at 20.30 local time (17.30 GMT) in the web page and social networks of the National Opera Greek.

The seats, reduced in order to maintain the physical distance and required safety measures, were occupied by medical staff and public officials, as a tribute for his work in the crisis management of the coronavirus that, for the moment, has left less than 4,000 cases registered in Greece.

On this occasion, the Orchestra of the National Opera was conducted by Lukas Karytinos and the program included several arias famous Verdi -by whose performance is well known Rachvelishvili-, Cilea Gounod and Saint-Saëns.

This performance opened “All of Greece, One Culture” , a series of 111 events until September 15 will attend performances of music, opera, operetta and dance on 70 archaeological sites in all of Greece.

Among these unusual scenarios can be found in the Temple of Poseidon in Sunio, the Roman Agora of Athens, the Palace of Nestor, the gym at the Sanctuary of Olympia or the site of Delphi.
