Zone Out, Season 4 | Episode 54: Questions to Ask About Casualty Management

The 2022-2023 season for the Canadiens will have been a disaster from start to finish at the clinic. The Habs will “lead” the NHL for the second straight season in the column for games missed due to injury. The most recent injury (Alex Belzile) is more bad luck, but there are still questions to be asked about the management of the injured. Antoine Roussel also draws on his experience as a former player to tell how players’ trust in doctors can crumble.

These numerous injuries add to the obstacles that await the CH for the last two weeks of the season. The team is visibly at the end of its resources and Guillaume Lefrançois recalls how difficult it will be to “manufacture” energy in the absence of certain emotional leaders. Elsewhere in the NHL, who are the coaches at risk of being unemployed at the end of the schedule? The names of Dallas Eakins and Craig Berube are mentioned.
