Young Quebecer Sophie Nélisse is one of four actresses from the series Yellowjackets to appear on the list submitted by the Showtime channel in the category of best actress in a drama series at the next Emmy Awards gala.

Sophie Nélisse, who plays the character of Shauna as a teenager, finds herself on the same list as Melanie Lynskey, who plays the same role, but as an adult. Tawny Cypress and Juliette Lewis, who give their adult features to the characters of Taissa and Natalie, are the other two actresses who are hoping for an Emmy nomination.

Chritina Ricci, nominated last year for Best Supporting Actress for her role as the grown-up version of Misty, will try again to secure her spot in the shortlist for her role in the second season of Yellowjackets— it is not to mention that his candidacy was also submitted for his role of Marilyn Thornhill, in the Wednesday series, from Netflix.

Yellowjackets, a hit with both audiences and critics, has earned record ratings for Showtime in addition to seeing its actors and craftsmen receive seven Emmy nominations in 2022. The series created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson tells the story of a team of young soccer players who survive a plane crash, oscillating between the days following the tragedy, but also 25 years later, when the protagonists have become adults.
