(Ängelholm) Defenseman Jorian Donovan was added to Canada’s preparatory camp on Friday for the World Junior Hockey Championship.

The addition comes after defenseman Tanner Molendyk suffered an upper-body injury Friday in a 6-3 preseason win over Switzerland.

Donovan, however, has not yet been added to the roster for the tournament, presented from December 26 to January 5, in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Aged 19, Donovan was selected in the fifth round, 136th overall, by the Ottawa Senators in the 2022 draft.

He has eight goals and 18 assists in 31 games this season with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League.

Canada will face the United States on Saturday, in another preparatory match before the official start of the competition.

The defending champions will begin their tournament against Finland on December 26.
