(Tampere) The United States pulverized France 9-0 to remain undefeated at the World Men’s Hockey Championship on Sunday.

Cutter Gauthier led the charge with a hat trick for the Americans, who won their six games in Group A.

Drew O’Connor added two goals as Scott Perunovich, T.J. Tynan, Rocco Grimaldi and Conor Garland all scored at Nokia Arena.

Goaltender Cal Petersen was perfect in front of 13 shots.

In other games on Sunday, Nico Sturm scored twice to help Germany thrash Hungary 7-2.

The Germans kept their hopes of advancing to the quarter-finals in Group A alive.

In Latvia, Andres Ambuhl threaded the needle twice and Switzerland went unbeaten in six games in Group B with a 4-2 victory over the Czech Republic.

Eventually, Slovakia did enough to shut out Slovenia 1-0. Slovenia have lost their six games since the start of the tournament and will be relegated.
