The White Iris, the 40th adventure of Asterix and Obelix, will be published in the fall, announce Les Éditions Albert René. Conrad, the series’ regular designer for 10 years, is now teaming up with Fabcaro, who signs his first screenplay set in the small Gallic village.

We know very little about the upcoming album, except that Chief Abraracourcix has been in bad shape since a new mode of positive thinking from Rome has insinuated itself into his village. Asterix and Obelix do not seem to adhere too much to this philosophy of fulfillment through benevolence either…

“I particularly like the Asterix albums where an external element enters the village and disturbs its balance, and observe the reaction of the villagers, with their legendary bad faith”, explains Fabcaro, in a press release from Éditions Albert Rene. The White Iris, expected on October 26, 2023, will be printed in 5 million copies worldwide.
