Even or odd number of a leap year (or not), summer or winter, or rather of spring or autumn… The day of our birth is a symbolic date that marks a whole life. But, there are dates that are more common (or rare) than others between the French.

As indicated by the Decoders of the newspaper Le Monde, a study carried out with INSEE data made it possible to establish the number of births per day from 1968 to 2015. After consulting the results on 37 million births in metropolitan France, we discover the dates of birth most shared between the French over 366 days.

Unsurprisingly, the least common birth dates fall in particular on February 29, with 24,430 births since 1968. But also on public holidays, such as December 25 (78,572 cumulative births) and January 1 (79,345 cumulative births). If the maternities are less overwhelmed at this time, there are other days when the labor does not weaken in the delivery rooms.

So what are the most common birthday days in France? If you were born under the sign of Taurus in the spring, you might share your birthday with a family member, friend or coworker, and even a celebrity! Planet reveals the list of the 5 most common birthdays in our slideshow.
