(Charlotte) Wyndham Clark won by four strokes over Xander Schauffele at the Wells Fargo Championship and earned his first career victory on the PGA Tour.

Clark struggled to hold back tears when he putt for a bogey on the 18th hole, sealing his victory.

Clark finished the tournament at 19 under par. It was the second-lowest score in tournament history, behind three-time champion Rory McIlroy’s cumulative score of minus 21 in 2015, when the par was 72.

Schauffele had some accuracy issues with his No. 1 driver on Sunday and finished the tournament at 15 under.

Tyrrell Hatton and Harris English tied for third at 12 under, one stroke better than Tommy Fleetwood and Adam Scott. Defending champion Max Homa finished ninth at 9 under.

Clark’s victory was far from easy.

The 80th player in the world entered the final round with a two-shot lead. He gave it up to Schauffele after seven holes, then came back strong to win after paring four strokes in the final 11 holes.
