As we approach the meteorological autumn, which begins on September 1, we already know that drought, heat waves and storms have punctuated this summer of 2022. And for good reason: this season has broken more than one record. That of the month with the most lightning strikes since the start of the readings and the earliest heat wave in June, that of absolute temperatures in the west in July… And that of summer among the driest that we have has ever known.

This month of August ends in very summery conditions, between high temperatures and thunderstorms. The weather is mixed this Friday, August 26, 2022, with stormy showers on one side and the return of sunny spells on the other. So much so that Météo France has placed around twenty departments on yellow storm vigilance in its six o’clock morning weather report… At what time will thunder roar near you? Check it out in our slideshow below.

According to forecasts from La Chaîne Météo, the weekend of Saturday August 27 and Sunday August 28 will not be outdone with thunderstorms at the end of the afternoon on Saturday, and “sunny and warmer weather” over the whole of country Sunday. The stormy deterioration, first envisaged for Sunday, “does not seem so threatening anymore”, according to the forecaster.

On the mercury side, we expect at least 13 to 23°C in the morning throughout the territory, as well as maximums between 23 to 34°C on Saturday afternoon, and between 23 and 35°C on Sunday afternoon. Sharply rising temperatures, especially in the southwest.
