After a historic heat due to its intensity, temperatures are gradually dropping across the whole of France this week. According to forecasts from The Weather Channel, the heat peak should be pushed back to the east due to new thunderstorms. “Saturday promises to be still hot, but a priori without excess, before a new outbreak of the thermometer and a new fairly generalized heat peak on Sunday and Monday”, indicates the site specializing in meteorology.

This weekend, a peak in scorching temperatures of one to two days is expected in the west and south-west of the country. “Further development is less certain, although the heat will persist with temperatures on average 2 to 3 degrees above normal,” explains the forecaster. So much so that, in some departments, there is no end to the heat in sight for the moment. In general, heat waves are less frequent and less intense in August than in June or July. However, there is a significant risk for the first ten days of the second month of summer holidays, still dominated by heat and drought. “This summer 2022, regularly hot, could thus be part of the hottest summers for 70 years”, concludes La Chaîne Météo.
